Free college has been a big topic for the democrats and has been discussed multiple times. There would be benefits for the college students by helping them out during their time in college. I think that college being “free” would cause other problems. Raising the taxes for other people would be one of the biggest. College can never be free because the money has to come from somewhere. As said on college raptor, “The uncertainty of who will carry the burden is not making many Americans comfortable.”
By paying for your own college it shows you how to handle your own finances. It also shows you how to create a budget and prepare you for the real world. There are many paying plans that can also help you out if you are not in the best financial situation. College could also start to not be taken as seriously and students may not focus on one major since they are not paying for it. The completion rate might go down as well because it wouldn’t matter as much because it would not affect the student.
If students want to increase their chances of getting a good-paying job that will benefit them later on in their life they can do so and use the different options for paying. I think that it would be best that students pay for their own college because it provides them with financial experience that will help them out later on in life. It wouldn’t be fair to raise taxes for people that aren’t benefiting from it.

I think that college shouldn't be "free." And when I say free is it really free? Someone has to pay for it right? Eventually it would come from peoples tax dollars. Even your own... so you are basically already paying for some. Also, it would increase drop out rates. If students don't have to pay why would they stay if they don't enjoy it. The fact that they have alreadt paid alot is the reason why some students don't drop.
I don't think college should be free, but I do think it should be cheaper. Like you stated it shows you how to handle money when you pay for college. On the other side of that some families might not have enough money and struggle to send their child to school. So with that I think college shouldnt be free, but it should be cheaper.
College shouldn't be free but cheaper for families. Some students could be very smart, but them or their family can't afford college. College should be all about grades you should have to pay for stuff like housing and books. You should be making money and saving up for stuff in the real world. People paying for college makes taxes cheaper and if colleges didn't help then everyone will be paying so much for taxes.
I don't think that college should be free. I think that the students should have to be able to learn how to become financially stable. There's also many other ways students can have help for paying for college for example, student loans, scholarships, and bank savings. I think that the kids should have to learn about financial stability for college and shouldn't get it handed to them.
free collge would be nice but maybe reducing the price would be better so it wouldnt raisetaxes as much but still help out. there is programs that already do this but if the college did it themselves it would be easier
I do not think collage should be free because it is the collages and professers main source of income. I would not want to pay for someone elses collage.
I do think that college should be free because students won't be under so much stress paying for college, rent, bills, food, and other essentials. They will still recieve some financial experiences because they still have to pay for bills, rent, credit fees, groceries, and other essentials. Well, no not really if I am behind on my bills.
I don't think college should be free because people not wanting to pay more for taxes could cause a bigger problem like revolting against the government. College is a very important place for teenagers becoming adults and if a candy bar isn't free, than college shouldn't be free either.
I do not think that college should be free but it should definitely be cheaper because then that will allow alot more people to get a higher eduation and that would allow more people to get better jobs and that would be very benefical for America as a country.
