Vice Presidents

JD Vance and Tim Walz took the stage for the 2024 vice presidential debate, showcasing their unique journeys and perspectives.

JD Vance, born in 1984 in Ohio, overcame a challenging upbringing to become a bestselling author and graduate from Yale Law School. His book, Hillbilly Elegy, highlighted the struggles of many Americans, making his story relatable and inspiring.

Tim Walz, born in 1964 in Nebraska, dedicated his life to public service as a teacher and U.S. Representative. He focused on education and healthcare, emphasizing the power of community and collective action.

During the debate, Vance spoke passionately about creating opportunities for all, saying, “I know what it’s like to struggle.” Walz countered with a call for unity: “We need to come together to tackle these challenges.”

As they addressed tough questions, some viewers questioned whether either candidate could truly understand ordinary Americans' struggles. Yet both demonstrated a genuine desire to make a difference, leaving the audience to wonder: could they effectively translate their experiences into meaningful change?

  • Good topic choice but I do think that your title is misleading. You spoke of Walz and Vance the entiore time which is fine but change the title then. Also be sure to expand a bit more especially with your thoughts and opinions. You could have commented back a few more times as well.

  • I belive that JD Vance would be a much better canidate because he went through his time in poverty where nothing was easy on him and he is also relating to people and how they aer doing, and living so i truly belive that he will be the better canedate.

  • I think that Jd Vance is a better option because of what he has went thorugh and his challenges. He also knows what people are/were going through which is what I would want for a vice persident.

  • I think JD Vance struggled more, since he has experience with poverty and addiction in the past. He seems like the better choice for vice president since he can relate to struggles and use his experience as ways to help.

    • I agree with you I think that JD has went through a lot more then Walse has and he can relate to a lot of Americans with his service in the war and his childhood growing up. I think that right now a lot of american's are struggling and JD can relate to them a lot more then Walse can.

  • What vice president do you think won the debate? I think that Jd Vance won the debate. This is because during the debate TIm Walz would often be seen with a confused look on his face, he would also sometimes not have answers to the questions that were asked. The biggest thing that caught most peoples eyes was when Tim Walz said that he was acutally friends with a former school shooter.

  • JD Vance is better due to the challenges and struggles he went through, this would help him relate to the people. He went to a good school and he has a high education.

  • I personally think that JD Vance is the better choice, although he is much younger, he is very well spoken. For the little experiance he has, he seems to already be ahead of his opponent, Tim Walz. Overall, I think that JD Vance won the debate.

  • to be honest, i never really thought strongly of vice presadents. but i think tim did a pretty good job. vance, it looks like he had a lot to struggle about. to be honest i think tim might win.

  • I think JD Vance is the better option. I am personally not a huge fan of either of them but if i had to pick it would be him. He is more empathetic and understands what 3/4 of americans have gone through. Actually serious issues that matter to all citizens.
