Self-driving cars, also known as autonomous or driverless cars, are vehicles that can drive themselves without human input. They have been gaining popularity due to advancements in technology. These vehicles use a combination of sensors, cameras, radar, and artificial intelligence (AI) to travel without a human operator.
Self-driving cars can bring many benefits to roadways and transportation industries, such as reducing accident rates. Reports have shown self-driving cars to saven society around $800 billion each year. Reduced strain on the healthcare system, being able to transport those who cannot or choose not to drive, as well as being electric, therefore environmentally friendly are all other ways that self-driving cars have benefited society.
On the other hand, those who have jobs that require driving will no longer be needed with self-driving cars. Fast food delivery and Uber drivers would also be replaced. While self-driving vehicles may save a lot of money in the long-term, the cost is overwhelming. It could cost around $250,000 to own a fully autonomous vehicle. As new technology matures, cost is expected to come down. Another disadvantage is machine error. If any software or part of the vehicle fails, it can put the driver in more danger than if the driver was to personally take control of it.

Good topic choice and summary Hailey! The issue is you didn't reply to any student comments which is worth 30 points.
What do you think about Self-driving vehicles? I belive they are harmful one of the main reasons i belive this is pepole still need to know how to drive and if pepole just use self driving they wont know how to drive if the self driving goes off and self driving can d=lead to more crashes
I think that self driving cars can be dangerous but also benefical. It would definetly be a saftey risk seeing as a robot would be controling the car on the road next to many other cars and it could cause accidents and put lives at risk. It could also benefit because transportation could be quicker and you could be more relaxed while driving.
What do you think about self-driving cars. I think that it's not a good idea because it's a good way for people to get into a car crash. So I don't think that we should us them at all. I really don't think it's the best idea to make that or have that at all, Bceuase it's as smart as you think it is.
What do you think about self driving vehicles? I think they can be helpful bet very dangourus. Many car crashes have been caused by self driving vehicles which leads me to think that the techknoledgy should be fully tested and safe before being put into civilian hands.
I don't like the self driving cars because they could make mistakes that us people wouldn't make if we were driving. They also don't see as much as we do when we are on the road looking outwards. They can be helpful if you don't have a ride home and you were under the influence you could use the self driving to take you home.
aleggedally they are even faster at the moose test so iil say its an overall net gain even if taxidrivers and bus people lose thier job...but i do wonder about semi trucks as the seem even more difficult for a robot to master.even master drivers struggle to get the regulation to drive them.
What do you think about self-driving cars? I think if they have a malfunction they could be very harmful to other drivers and passengers and might kill someone. Also, it could help the disabled if they cant drive. So it can be good in differnt situsations.
What do you think about self-driving cars? I think they could benefit the world in many ways, but I think they would cause more accidents than human drivers due to malfunctions with the car. They would help the world in the electric aspect but what would we do with all of the batteries after were done with them or after they wear out?
I think that self-driving vehicles could go either way. One of the benefits of having a self-driving car is being relaxed while you're in the car and having it take you to your destination. But, one of the cons to it is safety and risk because you are putting a lot of trust into your car and hoping that it takes you wherever safely.
