Try to imagine an ethnic group that doesn’t use technology or electricity, can’t join the army, and can’t attend High School or college. Well since there are Amish people there is no need to imagine it because it’s a reality for them. The first Amish came to America in the early 17th century and since then it has spread across the United States in places like Pennsylvania, Maine, Ohio, Kansas, Iowa and many other states. Let's take a look at what the Amish can and can't do.
What can the Amish actually not do? Well first of all, they can't own automobiles like a car or truck, use electricity, own television, radio, etc. They can only use certain kinds of electronic devices for certain purposes. They also can't get divorces, attend a college or highschool or join the military as stated before. So why do the Amish choose to live this way? Well it's because of their beliefs. The Amish believe in God and live a simple unworldly life. They believe that men and women should wear plain modest clothing and that men should grow beards and never shave them. The Amish follow an Ordnung (set of rules/orders), this is intended to keep their communities separate from the rest of the world to maintain a traditional way of life.
How different is their lifestyle from ours? The Amish are US citizens and pay taxes, property, sales, estate, etc. The Amish also don't have social security numbers. The US congress freed the Amish from having to do so because the Amish viewed it as a form of commercial insurance which they opposed. Many Amish people use modern medicine but more traditionally prefer alternative forms of medical treatments. The Amish are somewhat like us but living differently. They still have lifes and pay taxes just like we do. In conclusion, the Amish do live their lives differently from us but they are a group of people who believe in living their lives differently from others due to beliefs.
What do you think about the Amish lifestyle?
Would you ever become Amish?

It does sound fun to try and be Amish for one day, but one day only. I don't think I could handle everything they do differently. If I was riding a horse and buggy around I feel like people would think I'm crazy.
I belive that the Amish's style of life could prove to be very difficult, everyday things we use like cars and own tellivision the Amish dont have. We are very used to our electronics and luxery of having cars so it would be very hard to understand how there lifestyle works compaired to ours.
What do you think about the Amish lifestyle? I think that they live a simple and hardworking life with no access to phone they have a lot less drama although I think that with there be so few that they may have a insuse of inbreds Would you ever become Amish? No
I personally believe that the Amish life would be very difficult to live, especially for people who don't really follow religions. I think that I would not be able to live in a Amish life because I don't think that I can. But I can see some people living that life with no technology or electricity.
I agree, because the Amish life is based around religion and you dedicate your life to it.
I think the Amish lifestyle is a very interesting one. It is hard for me to imagine a life with eletricity or the right to extend our education further if you want to. I still respect the Amish as I can see how they would want to continue such a simple way of living. Personally, I do not think I would ever became Amish.
I also agree with you, the Amish life doesn't look easy or very fun. It would be hard to go without technology because it's embedded so much into our daily lives.
I agree with you, I personally would not go amish, but like you said I still give the respect as I do to everyone else.
Yes, respect to the Amish even though their way of life is what some call "weird" should be called unique.
