North Korea says ballistic missile test was a success

North Korea says they have successfully launched a new ballistic missile. The Pukguksong-2, is a medium long range missile and a previously unknown part of its arsenal. It was test fired on Sunday according to the KCNA.  Kim Jon UN Was present at the test site and personal gave the order to launch the missile. This was the first missile testesd by Pyongyang since President Trump took office. The missile was described by the agency as a "Korean style new type strategic weapon system."  The US and South Korea confirmed the launch.  A US official said the missile traveled 310 miles before landing in the east sea and it was launched from North Pyongan province.

How do you think the United Nations should react to this situation? and why?

What do you think the US should do about this?

I think the UN should let North Korea know that any threats or actions against other countries will be dealt with. I think that the US should make it clear and threats or actions made against the us will be dealt with by force.

  • Good summary but you didn't reply to any student comments which is worth 20 points.

  • I think we should be a little worried because they could try to fire to the US, but it only went 310 miles. I don't think the US should worry to much abut it yet.

  • The UN should keep a close watch on them and make sure North Korea doesn't attack anyone. I think that the United States should stay out of the situation as long as possible until it becomes a major threat towards us.

  • 1. it will make a lot of people mad for launching a missile with out notice

    2. not test fire any type of missels without further notice

  • I think they should keep a close watch on them to make sure they don't attack anyone. I think that the U.S. should send a clear message stating that if they threaten us we will destroy them.

  • I think that the United Nations should keep an eye on this situation and make sure that North Korea doesn't attack.  If North Korea's launches become more threatening, the United Nations should take necessary precautions to prepare for the threat.  It's definitely concerning that North Korea, already a major threat to the United States, is taking more action to arm themselves.  I think that the United States should stay out of the situation as long as possible until it becomes a major threat towards us.

  • I think the United Nations shouldnt react to this and just wait for things to settle with North Korea. I also think the UN should stay out of this situation as long as they can for our safety.

  • I'm sure almost every major country has their own weapons and missile tests etc. As long as they don't use them against someone else, it should be kind of ok. I myself don't really see the point or importance of these weapons of mass destruction. I'm not really familiar with the UN's or America's plans and views of these type of happenings, so I can't really say anything about that.

  • Probably, i think start looking further into like their intentions with the missiles and make sure they dont need to take precaution with the other country.

  • i don't think the UN should do any thing as of right now but advise North Korea that treats will not be tolerated. as for the US they should stay quiet for now and kinda let the situation settle
