The House Chamber in the Old Capitol was another vital part of the Iowan Government. It was this room where Iowa's Constitution was written in September of 1846. In December of 1846, Iowa had officially became the 29th State in the Union. Later in 1857, they revised Iowa's Constitution because of the growing population of the state to help fit Iowa's needs.
