Nearly 30% of high school students have been employed to a part time job during a portion of the school year. Most high school students work at local stores or restaurants in their town or towns near them. Some students even use knowledge from school in their job like a cna. The average paycheck for a part time student working is roughly $200 a week.
Having a job in highschool is a positive thing because it can teach students the Value or money. As well as having a good sense of what to do with your money it will teach you how to budget it too. Students will learn what needs and wants are. Getting a part time job after school can help you save up for college or your plans for the future. This can also help you with time management and help you create your own schedule. While there is a lot of pros there are also a lot of cons. Such as it can distract you or keep you from having the time you need to study. This can be a huge problem for some kids who aren't able to keep up during a regular school day or are in harder classes that require a lot more suddying. Next research has found that most jobs that are held by high school students do not teach skills that can lead to any kind of career advancement. Lastly, it can take away from your personal time or free time that could be spent with family or friends.
I believe that students should should get an after school job. I have one and I believe that it does not take away time from my family and my academics. Having a job in high school can help you learn skills you can use later in life or in college. I have learned a lot of life skills in my high school job that I can carry on to my future career. Such as driving semis, fixing semis, and even how to use acids. I believe that if you get and after school job you will know what to expect from a boss or even coworkers.
Overall I believe that students should have jobs in highschool because it will give them work experience they can use later in life and it can teach students the value of money and hard work. I do think some jobs could cut away from some family time but not as much school time. Most likely if a student has an after school job they are not participating in the sport that is in season, which gives them a little more time outside of school. But if you are participating in sports then it would definitely take away from family and school time.
I don't think that a job will take away from family time, if the person knows how to manage their schedule. This is important because having a job will tank your grades or your relationships, if you are not able to manage your time. In addition, while you are working your parents could also possibly be working. So it won't matter because you wouldn't of seen them anyways.
I think students should have jobs in high school because for those students who aren't in any activities after school they probably just go home and sit in their room and play video games. On the other hand, for some students who leave their house at 5:30 every morning and don't get home until 5:00 at night, it might not be as manageable.
I think getting a job is a good idea because $200 dollars a week is a decent amount of money for a job while in school. Students could use this money when they are going to college, or for when they are trying to find a real job. A job is a good thing for students to have because it distracts them from everyday struggles. It is also a very good way to build time management skills.
I think that the student should get an afterschool job, but they should have flexibilty. They shouldnt have to work every single day. If a student is involved in sports or another afterschool activity, work should not make them not be able to do that activity.
I also believe that having an after-school job can be a great idea because it can show students how to manage a schedule with a job before working with a full-time job later in life, I believe it can also show students how to manage money instead of wasting money on things they will never use. About the taking away from family time concern, I belive it should be stated that you will have to sacrifice a few un-needed things in life if you want to spend time with family such as hanging out with friends and going to the movies, etc. You yourself should be able to find a balance in family life when you are home. Overall I think after-school jobs are a great way to teach students valuble lessons while profiting doing so.
Having a job in highschool is a lot to hande, but I think it is good for students to have jobs in school. They can build confidence, leadership skills, and talking skills. A job also benifits you by earning money, that you can use on your likings or you can save. It is nice to have a job because you get to learn about money.
I also think that having a job can take away from school and family time. often atfer work you are very tired and have little to no motivation, and you want to sleep so you dont get your homework done or spend time with your family. A job can also throw you off during school because you are stressed about work, and make you very tired so you cant focus on your school work.
I believe students should have an after school job because it is a learning opertunity to prepare you for the future. An after school job also helps you gain leadership skills, and responsibilities. It also teaches you how to use money in a responsible way. I aslo believe it can be difficult at times, having to balance between everything, but if you have a positive mindsent it will all work out.
I agree with you, I do belive that it will help get them ready for the future. It shows them how to deal with there money and teach them good things to spend it on.
