Traditionally, when people start testing on animals the reason is to make sure it won't hurt or even kill people. 45 countries out of the 195 have outlawed animal testing including some big countries like Australia, Brazil, and Mexico. The first country to use animal testing was Greece in 500 B.C. for experiments, For centuries after that experiments were a standard practice for learning about medicine and biology. Animal testing in the United States Increased by 6% in the last couple of years moving up to 712,00 animals used in testing this spiked because of covid and the government trying to find the cure for covid 19.
Many people think that we shouldn't have animal testing in the United States. Animal testing has been a heated debate topic for many years. Sixty percent of animal testing goes to product safety. Although it has made a lot of other people's lives safer we shouldn't use them as test subjects. Their right is violated when we use them as test subjects because they don't know what is going on and even if they can't feel pain it could still mess them up. Tom Regan, a philosophy professor at North Carolina State University, states: "Animals have a basic moral right to respectful treatment." Animals are a lot like humans and probably more than a lot of people know, humans and animals both feel, think, and think. Then animals should be treated with the same respect as humans and not be taken advantage of because they can't speak. However, there are some pros of animal testing. Like how mice and humans share a lot of genes so when we test on mice they can predict how they will affect humans. Using animals will help humans get the correct dose so we know when we are taking these drugs that help us get better than they were probably tested on animals. animals have helped us develop many drugs that have saved many people.
In my opinion, I think that we should have animal testing but it should have to get approved by the state so people can't just be testing random drugs on animals.

I dont think people should be be testing animals, I could be hurtful to them and somethings they inject to the animals could be deadly, very harmful, and poteintial could make them die. we shouldnt put animals in cage to get tested, that could put them at risk for extenation.
I don't think that they should test things on animals. It might not be good for the animals and it can cause them to die. Everytime you do that you can put a risk on the animal because you don't know if it is good or bad for them. I also think that some chemicals work differently on animals and humans so when you are testing the results they might not come out always accurate.
I think that either way animals are animals. I do believe although that animal testing should probably fall under animal cruelty. I think its better to have lab rats than to have human people, but just because animals are below us doesn't mean we should abuse them and use them with extremely harmful chemicals.
I don't think it's ok for people to test on animals unless it is used to save the life of a human. I believe that animals shouldn't be tested to the point where they die and get messed up. Animals should be tested on with products only to make sure of its safety for humans.
I see both ways on animal testing, as they have no voice or way to protect themselves, but also if animal testing was not a thing then I belive it would become dangerous for us as humans and our saftey, So I see both ways.
I believe that for right now it is okay to try on animals, before having to try on humans. We never know the result until we try it. There are positives to this like helping create a vaccine. But I also see why people would go against it, some of the test are just to inhuman and not safe for the animal and how people feel guilty after trying test on animals and seeing their results. The animals don't have a choice when it comes to get tested, they just get selected and then they go under testing. Until we find a way around this. I believe that animal testing should still be used.
I believe that some animal testing is wrong, and one thing I don't understand is how people feel no shame for doing it. We don't have any better alternatives yet, since testing on something that is alive is close enough to testing on a human. In most animal testing experiments, the animals are treated poorly and usually die from the amount of testing. If the animals are happy and healthy and it is a 100% guarantee that the animal will survive, that would be the best way to test them, but I still think that we could find a better way to test products without the risk of harming animals.
I think doing tests on animals is okay. I think that it is better to see on an animal first before we try something on a human, we wouldn't want an experiment to go wrong and a human to be harmed or killed. I also think that it is important to make sure that the tests are not cruel and inhuman to animals.
I see the benefits of animal testing, like making sure the dosage is correct or if the drug is safe at all for humans to take. I can also see the side of being against animal testing, as they don't have a voice to speak and protect themselves.
I think that animal testing can be very benefitial for humans because it has helped a lot but I think that it can also be unfair for animals. I think animal testing could be used but only when it is absolutely necessary and it is done with carefulness.
