So yet again there seems to be chaos in the middle-east, and Europe. Yesterday, the US Embassy located in the Kavaklidere district of Ankara, Turkey announced that it will be closed to the public Monday due to a 'Security Threat'. While the nature of this threat has yet to be disclosed it is likely that this threat has come from known terrorist groups in the region, or possibly Kurdish militants. Unfortunately this region has been the victim of not only these types of threats, but actual events over the past few years, such as the 2013 suicide bombing at this very same Embassy. Again people that reside near this region are living in fear, as they are told to keep a "low profile" and wait for upcoming information by officials. I, along with many others can see that the middle-east, and even parts of Europe still need quite a bit of work, how will we go about this? and when can people living in that part of the world feel safe? nobody knows, but clearly we need different/better methods.

What do you think governent officials of both Turkey, and the United States should do, and how would go about preventing these situations?

I think both countries need to sit down and address the situation to better help the people, clearly they need to change up the ways they go about things. I think one of the biggest issues is security so i would mainly focus on that by having more soldiers/systems in place, also trying to focus military programs on fully elimating terrorist threats (as best as possible) and install more/better safe zones for the public.

What would you do if you were a citizen living in this region, facing these type of threats?

I would try and stay in a 'safe place' thats out of range of most government buildings in the area, and generally away from public centers. It's easier than trying to escape the country, relying on myself and people i trust rather than the faulty systems/protection of governments, and there public safety programs.

  • Great job on your summary! Comment a bit more next time.

  • I think that we need to have a disscussion and we need to talk about a way to help the people who need it the most and that we need to work to find a way to make things better for everyone involved not just one of us.

  • Like them i would as well keep a low profile and try to wait it out until the threat was neutralized, and if i were a citizen going through this i'd honestly be freaking out and trying my best to avoid any possible situation that may cause danger.

  • I think both countries need to work it out , talking through problems is the best thing to do when it comes to situations like this . I would try and stay safe or as safe as possible . Its hard to do anything else without making a huge deal out of it . Getting somewhere where the living is better and the government is stronger .

  • I think that both the United States and Turkey should meet and get the situation figured out and talk through all of the problems before they decide to do anything about it. I would try to stay as safe as possible in the situation that I am in and I would try to go where there was more govrnment and more protection so I would feel safer.

  • I think both countries need to get this situation under control. They need to come up with methods of how to keep these people safe and keep threats to the minimum. If i were a citizen i would move, I want to feel safe.

  • I think that should try and come up with a better way to be more efficent. I would try to stay out of all the drama and stay home away from all the crowds.

  • i think that they should seek help from others because we have no idea what is going on overthere because they wont tell us so how can we help them. i would move because i dont need that kind of worrie in my life.

  • I think they should sit down and have a press conference and tell the terroist to fuck off and go the fuck away.  I would have a facebook post that tells the terrosits to fuck off and leave us alone.

  • I think that both countries need to adrress the situation to help people. I would personally try and stay safe or leave this area as soon as possible to avoid getting hurt. I would even try to escape the country if possible.
