I agree with trumps pardon. Januray 6th was full of violence but the rioters truley belive that they were saving the country, they deep down belived that they were the only hope they had to keep america a democracy of the people. Even though there was mass violence, there was for sure a large amount who did nothing wrong. When you give everyone a punishment for it, it becomes hard to point out the innocent of the situatiuon, so I think this pardon was nessicary for keeping the innocent without punishment.
I think that all of the people who went to the capital and broke in were very backed by the rigged election excuse. They were just trying to support the person who they think should have won the election and got lost in emotions. I also agree with the pardons that trump gave to the people who were charged that day. He said that they were unfairly charged and I agree with them because it was very little things that they were charged big for. I also think that he knew that they were all die hard trump supporters and he wanted those type of people back in the open.
I believe that the people who got thrown in jail shouldn't be pardoned. Because the constitution clearly says that we are allowed to Peacefully protest. But that protest wasn't peaceful. Police officers were injured and people were killed due to their choices. People should not be let out of jail and have to serve for what they did. It could have been much worse and more people could have died and more people could have got hurt. If people would, have been peaceful about the protest and would have not done anything stupid this wouldn't have happened. So I think they shouldn't be released.
January 6th was an act of violence and insurrection against the US government. I completely disagree with Trump pardoning any single person arrested on January 6th during that event, as they are all responsible. No matter what is going on in the US at any time, storming the capitol, damaging government property, and assaulting police officers is NOT okay. The election wasn't rigged, it wasn't miscounted, the American people voted for Biden whether they liked it or not. This did not even lead to what they were attempting to accomplish in terms of stopping the certification and making Trump president, because Biden was still president.
I think that January 6th was a very violent event and many people were definitely injured. I disagree and agree both with the pardon’s because some people did not do anything as bad as what some people did. Some of the people that were in jail probably deserved being in there because they did some bad stuff. We should respect our police officers in what they do for us. If we don’t have them our country is less safe so why are they mad at them for protecting us? They tried to stop a vote that the country decided on so if they wanted the vote to be different it is not the congress’s fault for the vote being the way it was.
I think January 6th was a day full of many emotions. Many of which were angry. The republicans were outraged because they thought that the election was stolen. They repeated " stop the steal" while breaking into the captial. I think that the way went about this was wrong, there was a lot of violence and casualities. It seemed as though Trump almost encourged their doings. The rioters broke in on many different sides of the building, and harrased many police offers. Some had weapons of their own, and others threw bike racks and used American Flags to hit with. Many of these rioters were put in jail, this was due to their violent acts. I think that Trump pardoning them is sending the wrong messege. It almost seems as though he is saying its okay to beat police officers. The people held in custody have reason to be there, and I believe that it should stay that way until their sentence is over. This again comes back to Trump almost showing enthusiasm about what these angry republicans did.
I think the events of January 6th could be interpreted differently depending on which way you lean. I believe that most Democrats are outraged and probably believe that President Trump encouraged the riot. However, Republicans believe that the riot was justified because they believe the election was stolen and rigged. So the Republicans believed that when they stormed the capital building they were successful in their goal by stopping the certification of the votes that inevitably declared Biden as the president in 2020. I believe that some of President Trump's pardons were valid considering not all rioters were violent. However, I do believe the rioters that were proven violent against police officers should not be pardened.
