Today, we did a presentation. Africans where segregated from whites, which bothered the Africans, eventually making them go to the law for help... in 1896 made seperation legal. Blacks where second to the whites, and had many restritions. the restrictions where worse in the Soiuth, in which they where able to vote until 1887. the blacks whre still discrimated agasint in the north was still bad, the New York Race Riot happend. in the west though, Mexicans, Natives, and Asians where Segreated against. as well. Debt P{eonage happend, making people slaves until they had paid there debts off.Coney island once was an island, but turned into a penisula, during the ealry 20th century, many people went here to be entertained. bicycling also became popluar. tennis also was invetbted, and most of the brands that started then, are still are arounf. boxing and baseball also became popular during this time period. malls and chain stores where also hitting it off strongly in America during this period of time.
