Why did immigrants come to the US?
Where did immigrants come from? northern and western europe they came between the 1870 and 1920 and the new ones come from the southern and eastern europe.
What problems/issues did immigrants face on the trip over and once they got here? some could come over with family other had to send one over then the rest.
Why did some people want to put restriction on immigration? What were those restrictions?
Ch. 7.2
Why did cities grow so quickly in the late 1800's and early 1900's? Immigration, A lot stayed in the cities, jobs, Farmers moved to the cities, lights outside, more entertainment.
What problems did cities face due to the rapid increase in population? Cramped, dirty old houses, lack of good transportation, Lack of safe drinking water, diseases was common, crime, fires, low pay at work.
What did some people do to try to help the bad situation in the cities? Fix it.
