Today in U.S. History I learned that Lyndon Johnson, the vice president, was in the car behind Kennedy when he was shot. They immediately covered him up because they thought that he was going to be shot too. Parkland hospital was the hospital that Kennedy was brought to when he was shot.There was no federal law saying you can't kill the president. The secret service wanted to take him with them. The secret service eventually took him. That was against the law. Many people were very unhappy about that. Johnson got in the radio and announced the tragedy. JFK was buried on his sons birthday.I also learned that Lee Harvey Oswald beat his wife. She was abused physically and verbally. They did had a baby named June.
