Today in class I started working on my powerpoint on my section. I learned about how the railroads started moving westward before anyone else because of the big land grants that they recieved for laying track in the wilderness. This caused the two major railroad companies to lay as much track as they could. This also gave Americans a way to transport goods westward to major cities that were springing up on the west coast. People also started to make their way west to farm the fertile Great Plains.This was as far as I got today as I was having trouble deciding what to put into my powerpoint.
