Heres notes for zachs presentationMary Elizibith lease- she lived in the 1870s, moved to teach, joined farmers Alliance movementHardships- in the 1800s farmers had crops fail, railroads were charging excessive prices, such as storing equitment and things like that.Oliver Hudson Kelly- started the patrons of husbandry, became known as the grange, spent most of their time fighting railroads.Farmers Alliance - sent people from town to town to talk, members grew to 4 millionThe panic of 1883- railroads went bankrupt, followed by erie, northern pacific, union pacific and santa feBrian and the "cross of gold"- populist parties asked for free coinage of silver
