October 8

Today in CWI, we began by starting our discussion about the blogs we did like two weeks ago. We started by talking about the United Nations. It is a peace organization. There is a General Assembly; they meet here to talk about issues and problems. It is the biggest part of the United Nations. All of the countries leaders went to New York City and talked about things that might be considered to changing. The UN is powerful, and it is set up to help other countries. There are nine different organizations and six different languages in the UN. Five of the countries that belong to the UN are always on it - that are permatable. There are ten other countries that aren't. Some of the smaller countries don't like it.The next thing we talked about was Ali Khamenei. Jena and Max told us about him. He is a politician -- a supreme leader of Iran. So, he is the 'head honcho.' He is like a pastor guy, he started studying religions in 4th grade. He is a clarick. Max said he was a victim of a terrorist attack and has been the leader since 1989. You don't hear a lot about him because he is not the official 'president.' Khamenei actually makes the decisions.We told them about Ahmadinejad next. Courtney told us about his recent election. We think it was rigged. Taylor told us about his background. He was in the top of his class and was very smart. He got a PHD in engineering. He's married and has kids. He was born in 1956. I told about his beliefs. Look at my assigned blog to see what I said (;
