Today we got our assigned blog topics. Sarah and I got Al-Qaeda.We continued Mr. Bruns' powerpoint on JFK.Lee Harvey Oswald- had a rough childhood, was in the Marines, Decided to defect of the Soviet Union. The United States and the Soviet Union were enemies, although they never went to war. In the Soviet Union he met his wife Marina, they had a child, but he beat Marina. When he tried to move back to the United States it was very hard for him, they thought he might be a spy. Fair Play for Cuba- he handed out flyers, and since he was a communist he wanted to help support Cuba.Sniper's Nest- Oswald put up boxes in from of the window so that he wouldnt be seen. Mannlicher-Carcano Rifle(the gun Oswald used) Told people he had curtain rods in the bag he took. Was probably disassembled when he took it to work that day. He left all the evidence in the room. When he left he had a coke with him, and they let him go by when someone told the police that he worked there. He shot a police officer in the way out. Got caught at the Texas Theatre and tried to fight the police.Oswald talks to the press and tells them that he's just the Patsy, or the person that covers up for someone else. He was bonbarded by the press, they all wanted to talk to him. But, he acted like he didnt know what they were talking about in reference to killing JFK.Transferring the a County Jail. Jack Ruby shot and killed Oswald while on his way to the county jail. Jack Ruby changed his name from rubinstien to Ruby because he was Jewish, people didnt like jews. He was nice to police, liked to take coffee and donuts to them. Also, liked to listen to the police scanner. Ruby had his dog with him, was listening to the scanner, overheard that Oswald was getting transferred. Went to the jail, police that knew him let him in. Ruby said that he killed Oswald because he didnt want Mrs. Kennedy to have to come in and see Oswald. It was for her protection.Warrem Commission- The official document that explained what happened in the Assassination of JFK. Gerald Ford was vice president and became president after JFK was killed. Shots were fired from the 6th floor of the Texas School Book Depository. There were 3 shots fired. The same shot that hit JFK in the throat was known to injure Connelly, although he dissagrees. Shots were fired by Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald acted alone.After Oswald got the weapon that he planned to kill JFK, he asked his wife to take pictures of him. When he was confronted about the pictures he lied and said that they were not him, ( these pictures were doctored) His wife told them that she took the pictures.
