United Again

I have been putting this blog off for awhile. I try my best to forget the fatefull day. I know I will never be able to though.I was eight years old in third grade, enjoying class with all my firends. My teacher had gotton pulled out off the class room. I was sitting at my desk playing with my dad's dog tags that he had given me when I was a year younger. I always had them with me. My teacher came back in and told me to go up to the office. My sister who was in first grade was sitting in the office to. My mom was there, she took us home. When we had gotton home she told us to sit down and we watched t.v.. I knew what had happened and it took me a couple of minutes, then they said it. "Soliders from around the country are on there way to help as we speak, Camp ....." My dad's platoon was already on there way to New York. My mom had called him while I sat there confussed. Thankfully my dad answered, and we talked and I cried. He had been honorably discharged from the military two weeks earlier. He didn't think i was concerned in knowing. After I knew my dad was fine I was to.At the time I didn't really think of all the people's whoms lifes where lost. All the pain and suffering, the bravery, the compassion. When I was in New York I saw where the trade centers stood. The impact with the people was so strong. Every where in New York was loud, but there it was quite. With everything that happened on September, 11, 2001 our great nation was united again. Kelsey McDaniel
