Chris Farley ♥ Danielle's Weekly Blog Post #5

For as long as I can remember, I've had a thing for funny, fat men. Nothing is funnier than childhood obesity. NOTHING. I'm a cruel, baby-eating princess. FEAR ME. And so I present to you... THE late, THE great... Chrisopher Crosby Farley.Birth: Feb. 15, 1964Death: Dec. 18, 1997Before I can truly tell the tale (how's THAT for alliteration?!) of Chris Farley I must first preface it with explaing the enima that is... John Belushi. Think of yet another overweight comedian. You may know him as the man who played the obnoxious chubby man who pretended to be an exploding zit on Animal House, though he's also the older (fatter comma funnier) brother of the TV sitcom According to Jim's Jim Belushi. Farley once said that he "dreamed of being John Belushi. That’s why I went the Second City (comedy troupe), Saturday Night Live route. I wanted to follow him." While working in Chicago with his wild antics which attracted Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels. Michaels was so impressed he brought Farley to the cast of Saturday Night Live in 1990. On Saturday Night Live, Farley created uproarious characters such as an overzealous Chippendales dancer and motivational speaker Matt Foley. During his Saturday Night Live tenure, he was making brief appearances in movies such as Waynes World and Coneheads. In 1995, Farley left Saturday Night Live to pursue his movie career. He hit box office gold with movies such as Tommy Boy and Black Sheep. His final movie before his totally not cool death was Almost Heroes, a fictional movie about a group of trailblazers competing with none other than the marvelous Lewis and Clark."Da Bears!"Unfortunately, Farley aspirations to be none other than Belushi ended in total chaos when on December 18, 1997 he overdosed. He was thiry-three. So was John Belushi. As was Jesus Christ. Autopsies concluded many drugs contributed to his death including (but of course not limited to): morphine, marijuana, cocaine, and quite a number of prescription drugs. He was also a heavy drinker. His happy characters in movies did absolutely nothing for his personal life. He suffered through depression and had some relationship issues. Farley left behind a comedy collection of gold, but with all his fame came the unfortunate drug abuse and a very untimely death. Chris, you shall be missed. And may your death teach us all a valuable lesson. Drugs are icky! :(And also a sidenote from Wikipedia...."Unfinished projects:Farley had recorded vocals for the title character in the Dreamworks film Shrek, but his death necessitated that the role be recast. He was replaced by his former SNL castmate Mike Myers. At the time of his death, Farley had also been in talks to costar with Vince Vaughn in the film The Gelfin and also to star in a biopic film about Fatty Arbuckle. [19] Author Dav Pilkey wanted Farley to be in a thong for Dav's book Captain Underpants, but when Farley died, Dav let the whole idea go."

  • Farley was awesome. Nothing like a motivational speech by Matt Foley to get you going!

Is "fatty" a nice word to be throwing out there?
