Chelsea is doing her presentation on farmers. problems with railroads - interest rates were highalliances with farmers- oliver hudson kelley started the patrons of husbandry. Grange was basicly a group of farmers fighting against railroad prices.populism- farmers and common people trying to fight against the wealthy.panic of 1893- railroad construction expaned faster than markets. by the end of the year over 15,000 businesses and 500 banks collapsed.bimettallism- eithier gold or silver. gold bugs -only gold if you were a rich person you wanted the gold standard b/c you wanted less money out there.1896 people nominated McKinkley for president and Bryan also ran.
