Today in US History, I presented my power point on the New Immigrants. I talked about why the Europeans, Central Americans, and Asians immigrated over to the US. Europeans had to go through Ellis Island and pass a series of tests to make sure they were in good health and not a criminal. Asians had to go through Angel Island, where they had to pass a series of more cruel tests than that of the Europeans. There was a strong racism against Asians. They tried to get them sent back home then later they were given low wage jobs that no one wanted and the children were put in seperate schools than the white children.For the most part, they said I did a good job, but I needed more pictures. I was crunched for time to put the last part of the section and didn't want to leave out some of it if I began to cover it so I just left it all out. It also was hard for me to comprehend.
