Should every high schooler have open campus?

What is an open Campus? The open campus is when high schoolers have finished a class and they have the credits they needed for college and they don't want to take any more classes or they are not interested in the classes they wanted to do so they will have an open campus and they are only for juniors and seniors and that's how you can get open campus. Some schools have an open campus for everyone during semester tests and a lot of people like the open campus, more and more people are requesting to have all high schoolers should have an open campus. But sometimes people won't make it on time to their next class they'll either be sleeping or eating lunch with friends or family, or they just don't know what time they're supposed to be back.

A lot of people want an open campus when they're a freshman but if they do have an open campus they probably won't have enough credits or the right credits they needed to go to college. In my opinion that some high schoolers should have it no matter what grade they are in but as long as they have the credits they needed and they don't have any classes that interest them. I think it also takes some responsibility in the open campus and people have to take it kinda seriously but some people want an open campus just to have a break from school and be able to go outside.

Do you think we should still have open campus?

Should students have open campus at least once a year?

  • Glad you got this posted Aiden. Due to all the issues, I can only give you partial credit.

  • I think that people in 10th and 11th grade should be allowed to have open campus too. Maybe not freshmen because high schools is new, and that way they have one year to get to know it and then from 10th grade on open campus. They could still say that only people with certain grades can go out, so that the other people actually study for their classes during study hall.

  • the open campus should just stay the way it is because if we actually were to change it anytime soon, the previous freshman/sophomores when it is changed would just be angry because they didn't get the opportunity. It would spike a lot of controversies, and there are more cons than pros.

  • I think that if students have good grades in all of their classes and are deemed as "responsible", then they should be allowed open campus all year. This would also be something that the school can take away from anyone in case something happens with the student.

  • I think that it should just depend on grades and student behavior. So, if a student is doing good in school and acting good then they will have open campus. I think that this could also cause a majority of students that don't try to put some effort into school.

  • I think juniors and seniors should have open campus all year because most of us have a study hall where we do nothing. Personally I'm just sitting around and watch youtube and hope the hour gets done so I can leave, I don't see a reason to stay for 45min.

  • I think that the majority of students should be allowed to have open campus if they are passing all of their classes. I think that students should have open campus durnig testing scheduals, as well as during open periods like study halls and the lunch period.

  • I think that students should be able to have open campus as long as they have passing grades and do good on the ISASPS. They should at least be able to have it once a year because you should be able to have freedom around this age.

  • I think that all students should have open campus as long as they have good grades. I think that during study halls, the people with good grades should be able to leave. I also think that students should be able to leave during lunch. The school gets mad when people sign out to go get lunch then come back so I think that letting lunch be open campus would be a good idea.

  • I think that students should be able to have open campus atleast once a year if they have a passing grade in their classes. Especially since in high school they start trying to teach you how to be responsible and independent so we don't have to rely on other people as much.
