North Korea restarts reactor

U.S. intelligence says North Korea has followed through on its threat to advance its nuclear weapons program. Watching through satellite imagery the U.S. have seen  the release of steam from vents and the apparent discharge of water into a river. North Korea trying to get the reactor back up and started by seeing . The reactor had previously been dismantled under an agreement the country made six years ago with the Bush regime. The site is capable of creating nuclear material to be used in the nation's nuclear stockpile.  Nuclear experts said it would probably take about half a year to get it up and running, if it had not taken significant damage.

What do you think they are doing this?

How do you think the world could react?

  • Glad to see you got some comment finally! This is one of those stories that require good background knowledge to give an informed decision which is probably why not many people replied.

  • Because they are trying to show that they have power, and want the world to respect their power. The world will ignore it because it don't care enough to do anything about it.

  • I'm not sure why they would do this. Things will get pretty serious if it does happen. It's kind of scary.

  • I think that only two possibilities exist. The first is that this will have to be settled by a bombing raid, the second is by sending in a few operatives to 'dismantle' the nuclear reactor 'passively', or have a little fun and turn Korea into a new ground zero.

North Korea isn't going to stop their military advancement. We have tried to warn them but they have shown no interest in listening. This situation will only result in war, whether we throw the first stone or they launch the first nuke.

    • But if we attack first we could be responsible for a war that could have been avoided...

  • Because they are trying to show that they have power, and want the world to respect their power. The world will ignore it because it don't care enough to do anything about it.

  • I don't know why they are trying to turn it back on, it will only make the nations angry.

  • I dont knowwhy they think that they need nuclear weapons, we already have enough of those. The world isn't going to react in a positive way.

    • Yeah but if they get them then if there was war it would become nuclear.
