Man Kidnaps and Strands Women With Special Needs

John Chapman of Pennsylvania has been accused of kidnapping Jaime Faden, a woman with special needs. The two met at a school for students with special needs, and Chapman would stay with her at her home in Bethel Park. John promised Faden a desert photo shoot, so the two drove from Pennsylvania to Las Vegas. When they got to the desert, he tied her to a sign post and duct taped her nose and mouth causing her to suffocate and die. Chapman reached out to Fadens family through her Facebook messenger account, making them believe it was her. Chapmans wife admitted he had told her that he had killed Faden. He has been charged with kidnapping, obstruction, and a few other crimes but he was not charged with Homicide.

Why do you think he reached out to her family pretending to be her?

I think he also has a mental illness which probably explains why he killed her and reached out to her family afterward.

Do you think he should be charged with a homicide? Why or why not?

I think he should be charged with a homicide because he tied her up knowing she was going to die.

  • Well done overall Joseph. Always be mindful of your questions if your own answers are brief.

  • To probably explain to them what he did but their could hae been countless reasons. I think he probably should but I dought it would happen.

  • I think he probably has a severe mental illness also. Normal people don't kill people. Also murdereres don't contact the victims families that is strange. I think he should be charged with homicide also because it would be a fair sentence to him.

    • I agree, mental illness probably played a major role in this murder, and yes he did kill her so he should be charged with homicide.

  • I think that he reached out to her family while prentending to be her to try to convince them that she was safe and having a good time. I think he should be charged with homicide. He killed a human on purpose, therefore he should be punished for it. I don't know why he wasn't charged with it from the start.

    • I agree, I think he was trying to save himself by making them think she was ok.

  • I agree with you that he had to of had some kind of mental illness in order to something like this and then send messages to her family. I 100% think that he should be charged with homicide because he intentionally did this and he knew what would happen.

    • I agree, I don't understand why he wouldn't be charged with a homicide right away because he murdered her.

  • Maybe becaus he didn't want to be found guilty of what he had done to this poor person. He probably thought he would be slick rick and get away with what he had done. I think that he should be charged with homicide because his actions led to another persons death.

  • I personally don't understand why anyone would want to do something like this or consider it a good idea. I am assuming Chapman wasn't mentally healthy when he killed Faden and reached out to her family. Chapman should clearly be charged with homicide because his wife told that he had admitted to killing Faden.
