36-year-old Kobe Bryant got ranked No. 40 on the espn.com's 2014 NBA player rankings. Once word got out to the Mamba, he shot back some fire of his own to Bill Oram of the Orange County Register. This what Kobe said about him being ranked 40th best player: "I've know for a long time that they're a bunch of idiots." Sound familiar? Probably because almost the exact same thing happened prior to last season when he only raked No. 25. "During that time Kobe said that anyone who thinks he's 25th best player in the world needs drug testing."
Kobe only played six games last season due to injury. Do you think his ranking is because of this medical excuse or do you do you think it was for another reason? Do you like Kobe Bryant? If not, who is your favorite player in the NBA and why?

His ranking could have been brought down by the fact that he did not play very many games. I think that the comments he made were childish and not needed.
Yeah they weren't needed at all. I totally agree with you. Some people, his fans, probably lost a lot of respect for him.
As a Trail Blazers fan, I think Kobe is ranked too high. He should be around the 80's. His NBA 2k ranking is an 89 which is also too high. Lebron shouldn't be in the top 10 and the top 3 should be Nicolas Batum, Lamarcus Aldrige, and Damian Lillard.
I'm righ with you Richy, I don't think LeBron is that good! I like Ray Ray Allen. And the 80's that pretty far up! You must not like him too much!

I think that Kobe should be rated higher up, maybe in the mid 20's. I'm guessing LeBron is rated number 1 in the rankings but I think he is over rated. LeBron has to have a bunch of other good players on his team to win a ring which is pretty embarrassing in my opinion. On the other hand, Kobe was able to win 2 rings without Shaq. LeBron flops and has Ray Allen save him when he chokes in the last seconds of the game. Kobe is my favorite player and can make clutch shots unlike LeBron. LeBron has also played more minutes in his early career so that's why he has such "amazing stats".
Yes good point Alec. Ray Ray is always there to save him. What ranking do you think that LeBron should really be at? And I think your right, LeBron is overatted and he should be ranked No. 1 in the most flops per game.
It might be because he is getting old or because of the injury. I dont like kobe at all, I like lebron james because he is just who i liked since i was a youngster
