Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has introduced the Green New Deal. The new deal is full of new ideas that will try to be put into effect in just 10 years. Cortez is pushing for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. These emissions coming from vehicles, and wait for it... Cattle! In the Green New Deal, that is said to be backed by all of the Democratic Presidential candidates, will try to get rid of all vehicle emissions in just 10 years. They propose to build a train that will go under/over the ocean to get rid of airplane emissions. This deal also calls for getting rid of cattle because of their farting. When cattle fart they produce methane that hurts the atmosphere. If they get the cattle gone you can say goodbye to milkshakes, burgers, cheese, etc.

  1. Would you be opposed to getting rid of vehicle emissions and cattle?

I would be furious if someone tried to come and take away cattle and fuel. Sure I understand the idea behind helping the atmosphere, but I think that she is really going to a very extreme idea. Especially in getting this done in just 10 years! Where would all the fuel burning vehicles and cattle go?

      2. Do you think you could vote for a Presidential Candidate that is pushing the Green New Deal?

I do not think I could. With someone like that in power you have to worry about what they might do to the livestock and the vehicles we all depend on.

  • Well done Jacob! Be sure to comment on three different days next time.

  • I would be very mad because cattle is the main source we get our food from. If we kill them we will not be able to get all the nutrients we need to surive. However, I do think the under the ocean or over the ocean train is a good idea. I don't think we should get rid of the airplanes  though. I think we should keep them because planes could carry the imports instead of people.

  • I think that this deal would do more harm than good for the people. I believe I could vote for a presidential candidate that is pushing for the Green New Deal because even if the candidate wants to accomplish this deal in 10 years I do not think that there would be enough people on board to help pass it.

  • 1. i agree with trying to get rid of vehicle emissions especially considering they rely on a limited resource but getting rid of cattle is a step too far.

    2. it depends on how much they agree with it  And what parts

  • I think that getting rid of vehicles emissions and cattle would hurt lots of people. Cattle farmers would be forced to do something else. I do think that vehicles emissions should be reduced, but getting rid of all the emissions would be hard. No, I couldn't vote for someone who supports it because it's a very socialistic bill.

    • I understand the environmental problem that the planet is facing and I understand that we need to fix it, but she needs to start in a different place. Maybe start in big cities, make their cars more environmentally safe.  Taking fuel and cattle from farmers would hurt many of their livelihoods.

  • I would be against getting rid of vehicles and cattle because we need to get places and have food and milk; steak, burgers, tacos, meatballs, milkshakes, ice cream yogurt, etc.

No, I would not cast my vote for anyone wanting to change things that much or that quickly.

  • I wouldn't be happy about the government removing cattle and vehicles. For some people, vehicles are their only way of transportation and cattle is their way of work. I don't think I would vote for a candidate that wanted the Green New Deal. It has good intentions, but it would be putting people out of work by taking away cattle and transportation.

  • I think I could definitely vote for her because climate change is a huge deal and will be completely irreversible within the next 11 years. I wouldn't be opposed to getting rid of vehicles and cattle as there are other options for travel and cows aren't necessary for survival.

  • If you took away fuel you would have the most riots you have seen in years from almost everyone because fuel is used on farms to produce crops so if you got rid of fuel you would have outraged farmers and you would have to find a new way to farm the land that is just as efficent as tractors. I don't think there is any possibilty in the world that I could vote for someone that wants to ban fuel and kill off all of the cattle
