How does the past come back to haunt us?

How does the past come back to haunt us? I believe it does and many people is bound to or close to repeating itself. The brain is very powerful and is able to make you believe things that aren't even real. But because our brains want explanation and when that happens it tends to be the person we love the most. You would start blaming your husbands and wife, maybe you would start to blame your kids for misbehavior. Many things could end up happening just because your brain needs and wants someone to blame. Sometimes we don't know what we don't know like our feelings. Yesterday your confusion, pain, anger is all projected into a relationship without knowing why and overtime it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. We are able to complicate things to a greater extent, for example the way we see our solutions to a problem may just change the situation you're in without solving it.

Some people think in the past to the if only, for instance, if only i had a better spouse, house, or even a boss then maybe I wouldn't be useless. The only change that needs to happen is inside of you. There are many ways to do this, like one of them is to hear someone talking about the scene you identify with also known as a support group. Another way is to do a roleplay that allows yourselve to revisit a moment from our pass so we can change how you expierenced it. Also psychodrama is another way to do it because it feels a lot familiar. There are multiple benefits to confronting your past and it is helpful to you. First thing you can do is the intentional healing process, which leads you to see that you are not the cause of the problem and that something else is. You could also see the guilt and shame over having misplacing a child for bad behavior. You may also see that the parents not terrible just under some stress, also immature without the resources needed.

What do you think about your past, does it haunt you?

What memories do you see in the past?

What ways have you used to solve the problems in the past

  • Eric,

This is not US History related and it was also posted late. You also didn' reply to any student comments.

  • I think my past is in the past and there isn't anything to do to change it. I don't think it haunts me. I have plenty of memories of good and bad memories of the past. I don't really think you can solve problems in the past for the sole reason that you can't change what already happened.

  • Some parts do haunt me yeah. I see alot of my memories in the past. I havent solved any.
