History of subway

Subways journey began in 1965 when Fred DeLuca got a $1000 loan from a family friend Dr.Peter.Buck, opened "Pete's Super Submarnies" in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The overall goal of this buisness was to help fund DeLucas's college education through selling sandwhiches. They realized the potebtial of their buisness and set a goal to open 32 stores within 10 years. By 1974 he had 16 submarine sandwhich shops in operation, these shops began to rapidly grow. Shortly after this they adopted the new name "Subway." Their main goal of expanding this brand was to offer a fresher and healthier alternative to the exsisiting fast-food options. Their cusomizable sandwhiches made a big bang because that was unheard of at the time. This made many customers happy as they could make a sandwhich to their liking.

Today, Subway is one of the largest fast-food chains worldwide, with locations in over 100 countries. They've mantained their commitment to fresh ingredients and customer choice. Over the years, Subway has faced challenges and competition, but it has remained a staple in the fast-food industry, known for it's submarine sandwhiches and even salads. Lately they've even uped their game by getting mobile ordering. This help's them stay ahead of their competition.  Although a lot of people complain about Subways prices now, it seems as if everyone keeps going back because of how good it is.

Do you think subway is overpriced?

What do you get when you go to subway?

Did you know Subway had a different name at first?

  • Good topic choice and well done Hagen. I would like to see your thoughts within your summary as well.

  • I think subway could be a little cheaper but its worth it because you can get whatever you want on the sandwhich and when I go I usually like to try something new everyime cause of how many options there are to make your sandwhich diferent.

  • Personally I don't feel that Subway is very overpriced and that the prices just stayed with the inflation of our country. When I got to subway I get a six-inch Italian. Before this I did not know that Subway had a different name and I find that very interesting.

  • I think that it is expancise and Iv'e worked at Jimmy Johns they have way less sandwitches that cost less then the ones at subway.I usually don't get anything when I'm there but just the snacks or their pizza. I did not know that they had a different name before I really wasn't that much of a fan of subway.

  • I think that the prices are good because of all the inflation on the food. I normally get a number 3 "the monster". no, because the subway has been their scien I can remember and I have never seen a diffrent  name.

  • I think subway has fine prices for their food. When I go to subway I get a steak and cheesse sandwhich most of the time. I did not know that subway had a different name, I just assumed it was always subway.

  • I don't think Subway is overpriced, I think  that it is priced for what it should be considering that you are being somewhat healthy and eating at a fast food restaurant. I didn't know that they had a different name than Subway when it started.

  • I think subway has slowly became overpriced with inflation and problems in our economy. I get a sandwich, cookie, sometimes chips, and a drink. My favorite drink is their lemonade. I did not know that Subway had a different name, but it doesnt suprise me.

    • I agree the other day I got a meal and it was really expensive.  My favorite drink at Subway is Dr Pepper.

  • I feel like subway is very expensive and their prices are a little too high. Their food is pretty good though, so I feel like its worth it. I did know that subway had a different name before. My favorite food from subway is their new churro, its pretty good.
