I think they should play for money that will be donated to a charity of the winner's choice and how they get that money is by using the money gained from the game to support the donation. I think it could interest people who are not into basketball because the viewers could help donate to the overall donation.
I don't watch the NBA too much but when I have watched the All-Star contest I don't really feel like the players try that hard. I think a way they could get them to try harder is to add in money bonuses to the All-Star game. I think this would make it way more exciting.

I would add people that would actully try and enjoy basketball and not just be a bum and run around and act like you like basketball. I have never played basketball but the way they are playing is not right at all and just running around and not even making buckets.
