Florida Police Officer Joins in on a Basketball Match

On Thursday, bobby White, a police officer, received a noise complaint of a group boys being too loud. He realizes that there is no crime involved, so he joins in on their basketball game. when the game ended, the officer told the kids he would be back Saturday to play. On Saturday, He pulls up with a group of officers. bobby White then told the kids that he brought some big guys and that's when Shaquille O'Neal got out of the SUV. All the boys were excited. Not only did he play basketball with the kids, but he also told them to follow their dreams and to never give up.

I think this is cool that the officer did this for them. It definitely changed all the boys lives. I would be super excited just to meet an NBA player because it is a once in a lifetime experience. There is a lot of hate going on for police officers now a days, and many stories like this don't get out into the world.

What would you do if you were in Bobby White's Shoes? Would you make the kids stop?

If one of your favorite athletes emerged out of a car while you were playing, what would you do?

  • Well done!

  • I would tell the kids to keep playing, just keep the noise to minimum. I'm not into sports, but I imagine that I would freak out.

  • I think this is one of the coolest stories I have heard in a while. I think that the noise complaint was unnecessary but I'm sure that those kids are happy it happened. I think it is awesome how that police officer played with the kids and introduced them to a person they will never forget. If one of my favorite pro athletes came out I would freak out. Meeting someone famous is always cool and I'm happy for these kids.

  • If it was just an innocent basketball game I would have probably done the same thing. This is an amazing story of a kind man who made his community a better place. I would be very excited and probably freak out. If my favorite NFL player came to one of my practices it would be one of the best days of my life. It is a great thing that Shaquille O'Neal came to play with these kids.

  • I would make sure that the kids are ok, but I wouldn't stop them from playing a game of basketball.  Let them have some fun playing a game.  The Officer bringing Shauille O'Neal is really awesome.  If one of my favorite athletes showed up, I would try and not freak out and make a fool of myself.

  • If I was in Bobby White's shoes, I would make sure everything going on was safe and nothing wrong was going on, but I definitely wouldn't make the kids stop if all they were doing was having some fun. I think what White did was very awesome, along with O'Neal; both men gave the boys time and were very nice! If one of my favorite athletes emerged from a car I would want to be as normal as possible, but would have a hard time with doing that because of excitement.

    • I also agree with how the police officer and O'Neal spent the time to come play with the kids.

  • If I were in his shoes, I would definitely make sure that there weren't any problems first of all, but then join in. I think this is a really cool and inspirational story, and I'm sure the boys were extremely excited.  If I saw my favorite athlete, I would try to act as "normal" as possible.

  • If I where in his shoes I find out who called and tell them well there just playing and there is no fighting or weapons involved. I wouldn't make them stop unless its like 2 or so in the morning then I have to tell them to go home its late. I would probably get lots of pictures and be excited! They probably where really really excited that he did that because they may not have to money to see him.

    • I agree with you because the person who called them in should be told they were doing nothing wrong.
