Disney's Frozen

When Walt Disney died in December 1966, it only took a few months before the crazy rumor that Disney had his body frozen so he could be revived in the future The rumor even goes one step further to say he is buried in a freezer under the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. Of course there is no actual evidence that this is even true.

Some people believe that Disney producers made the movie Frozen and titled it as such to distract people from that theory and hoped one day it would be forgotten entirely. Before the movie was made you could search “Disney Frozen” and would get tons of articles on the conspiracy theory, but now you get the movie Frozen. It takes a bit more effort to find out about it. And not to forget the fact that when you hear those words you automatically think of the movie not the conspiracy theory.

Another reason is the title switch. The movie Frozen was based on Hans Christian Andersen’s 1844 fairytale: The Snow Queen. Disney could have kept the original title like they did with most of their other fairy tales they adapted from the Brothers Grimm’s stories. So they could have named it the same thing or something similar, but they went out of their way to create a whole new title.

But why would they do this even though the rumors weren’t true? Disney has a very friendly, family brand and wants to protect that. They didn’t want to be associated with this wild theory of Walt Disney. The part of him being buried under a popular ride could be enough to keep a few families from visiting too.

I first heard about these conspiracies a few years ago on tiktok but I never really looked much into it. I don't believe that Walt Disney had his body perserved in ice to be revived in the future, it just seems to crazy to be true plus all the facts stand against it. I think it is definitely possible that Disney producers title the movie the way they did to stop media from spiraling and causing problems.

Have you heard of these conspiracies before and where?

Do you believe Disney's body was perserved in ice and why?

Do you think the rumor was why the movie is titled Frozen and why?

    • The guy who started the whole Walt Disney froze himself thing was crazy. How do you just wake up and decide one day to tell people that he saw Walt Disney's body incased in ice in a freezer. I also don't believe the rumors.

  • I have never heard of these conspiracies before, and I think it's crazy that people thought of conspiracies like this. I don't think this is the reason they named the movie Frozen. They did have a common theme with keeping the name from The Brothers Grimm, but I don't think it had that meaning behind it.

    • I don't know how people think of things like this and find things to support it. It must take a lot of time. If the reason had nothing to do with the rumors going around about Walt Disney, what was the reasoning behind changing the title of this movie and not others.

  • I have never heard of these conspiracies before but I can see where people think these theories. I'm not sure if those theories are true I think it was to early to know exactly how to preserve bodies in ice.

    • I also don't think he had his body frozen. The first person to get preserved in ice was only a month or so after Walt Disney's dealth. So it wasn't too far off, but there is still no proof that it. I think it's crazy that some people can even think of stuff like this.

  • I think that it is a strange but unique theory because I don't read about many theories. I do think that it would be a cool theory if Disney was preserved.

    • It is a very out there idea, ecspecially since there is no proof and it all started because one guy decided to tell people he saw Walt Disney's body incased in ice in a freezer. I would definitely be crazy if this was true.

  • I think this is a very weird theroie, but I dont know of any other theroies. I do think that it would be cool if disney was preserved, cause he was was the start of a very sucessful company, but im not sure if i belive that it happened. I just think that the movie is called frozen because elsa has ice powers.

    • It would be very cool if Disney was able to be preserved and revived now. He had so many wonderful ideas and with todays technology, he could do crazy things! Also the orginal story's title was The Snow Queen and the powers were the same in both, so why change it now?

  • I truly believe that this is a strange and unique story, and as much as some people with it to be true I just don't see it being a faculty statement. How likely is it that Walt Disney froze him self that way he can be preserved till the future?
