4 workers die In Texas chemical plant leak

The leak happened at about 4 a.m. Neighbors reported smelling the chemical's odor, but the company said it diffused in the air and did not pose a risk. Emergency responders monitored the air and concluded that a shelter-in-place order was not necessary. There was a 5th person exposed but he is expected to make a full recovery.he leaked chemical, methyl mercaptan, is used in insecticides and fungicides, as well as to odorize natural gas for safety purposes.

Do you think this could of been prevented?

  • Yes, because they had concern and warnings in plain view, but they did not listen. If had they listened there possibly be no deaths.

  • It could have been prevented by listening to the neighbors concern and gotten people out too look for a leak.

    • I agree the company could of done better with listening to the area residents.
