You may have heard about a man named tank man. But that's not really his name, till today the Chinese have covered up his real name. Maybe one day we can find out the truth of this intriguing mystery. The tank man is an unidentified Chinese man who on June 5, 1989, faced down a column of People's Liberation Army (PLA) tanks on Chang'an Avenue in Beijing who we still don't know what happened after. So what is the truth behind this story?
What was the tank man protesting? He was protesting the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) violent crackdown on Tiananmen Square protesters. On June 5, 1989 the Chinese man (tank man) approached the tank with his “groceries” in his hand and stood in front of the tank. He later climbed on top of the tank and he got off later. He returned to the ground in front of the tank and some group came and got him and moved him away from the tank.
What happened after he got taken away from the tank? It is believed that after he got taken away from the tank the government killed him and covered up his identity. Another theory is that he ran off after he protested and was never seen again to keep him safe. There are many theories but these are the main two that people believe. Personally I think that these two theories are the most believable. The theory that I believe in is that he got killed and his identity was covered by the Chinese government after his protest..

I think that the government had probably taken Tank Man. The government probably killed him, but something most definitely happened to him. Because he was going against the government and blocked the road for the government, it probably was some sort of protest against the government and to stand against them for being in a communist society.
I think it’s a good possibility that the Chinese government took him into custody. Since he was acting against the government they probably killed him so that he couldn’t try and turn others against the governments plans.
Do you think that if he got taken into custody do you think his family and friends also did? Or did they also maybe had gotten killed or payed off to keep quiet? I agree how you said "turn others against the governments plans".
I believe that the government captured tank man. Most likley he was killed later on. I think that he blocked their pathway because he didnt agree with what the government was trying to do. He was probably doing it as an act of protest to the Chinese Communists.
I think that the Tank Man was captured by the government and taken away, possibly killed. I believe the Tank Man blocked the path of the tanks to protest the Chinese Communist Party in hopes to stop them or provide awareness to other people.

I think he blocked the path of the tanks because he did not stand for what the government was trying to do. He did not want them to hurt other people or destroy some of the city.
I think the Tank Man was killed and is being held (if he's alive today) somewhere. I don't know why he blocked the path of the tank. Maybe he just wanted to climb on top of it for fun and then was punished for his actions. What I wonder is why the Chinese would want to cover this up and hide it from the world.
Your theory is very intresting because you think that the tank man is still being held captive. Do you think hes is in prison the rest of his life or do you think he was tortured and is still alive? I also wonder why the chinese are covering it away from press.
I think what happened was that the police arrested him, but the Chinese wanted to cover it up because they know there would be a lot of angry people who would want him dead. People would break into where he was being held and that would cause issues for many other people.
