You may have heard about a man named tank man. But that's not really his name, till today the Chinese have covered up his real name. Maybe one day we can find out the truth of this intriguing mystery. The tank man is an unidentified Chinese man who on June 5, 1989, faced down a column of People's Liberation Army (PLA) tanks on Chang'an Avenue in Beijing who we still don't know what happened after. So what is the truth behind this story?
What was the tank man protesting? He was protesting the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) violent crackdown on Tiananmen Square protesters. On June 5, 1989 the Chinese man (tank man) approached the tank with his “groceries” in his hand and stood in front of the tank. He later climbed on top of the tank and he got off later. He returned to the ground in front of the tank and some group came and got him and moved him away from the tank.
What happened after he got taken away from the tank? It is believed that after he got taken away from the tank the government killed him and covered up his identity. Another theory is that he ran off after he protested and was never seen again to keep him safe. There are many theories but these are the main two that people believe. Personally I think that these two theories are the most believable. The theory that I believe in is that he got killed and his identity was covered by the Chinese government after his protest..

I think that the Tank Man was definatly killed by the Chinese but I think that he succeeded in his goal to expose and protest the government. I think that the theory that the government killed him is accurate because of the countries reputation.
I agree that the tank man was probably arrested and then killed and covered up by the government. I also think that tank man was protesting something that the government didnt like for him to go missing.
I think the Tank Man is a hero. He protested against the unjust taking of lives, and even had the courage and bravery to climb on top of a tank. I beleive he was just a normal man who was truly just walking home with his groceries. Where he was taken, I do not know, but I truly hope he's still alive.
I agree with your thoughts and how you though he was very brave and couragous. He had to have a lot of bravery to stand up to the tank and climb on the tank in the way of it moving. I also hope that he is still alive at this moment and lived a happy life.

I agree with you, I think that he was killed and his identity was covered by the goverment. I think that he blocked the tanks because if he was protesting theat was his why of trying to stop them but making the tanks slow down or potentially stop.

I agree that he has been unheard of. But why so you think hes in jail? Do you think he was killed in jail or before by the governemnt? Do you think if he was alive he escaped jail do you think he would speak out about his expierences for being the tank man?
I unfortuantely am not enough of a optimist to beleive that the Chinese government was merciful enough to keep Tank Man alive. They sent a tank to Tiananmen square to kill protesters, why would Tank Man be any different?
