You may have heard about a man named tank man. But that's not really his name, till today the Chinese have covered up his real name. Maybe one day we can find out the truth of this intriguing mystery. The tank man is an unidentified Chinese man who on June 5, 1989, faced down a column of People's Liberation Army (PLA) tanks on Chang'an Avenue in Beijing who we still don't know what happened after. So what is the truth behind this story?
What was the tank man protesting? He was protesting the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) violent crackdown on Tiananmen Square protesters. On June 5, 1989 the Chinese man (tank man) approached the tank with his “groceries” in his hand and stood in front of the tank. He later climbed on top of the tank and he got off later. He returned to the ground in front of the tank and some group came and got him and moved him away from the tank.
What happened after he got taken away from the tank? It is believed that after he got taken away from the tank the government killed him and covered up his identity. Another theory is that he ran off after he protested and was never seen again to keep him safe. There are many theories but these are the main two that people believe. Personally I think that these two theories are the most believable. The theory that I believe in is that he got killed and his identity was covered by the Chinese government after his protest..

I think the chinese government killed him. He was probably stopping them to make a scene so that people would see his protest.
What do you think happened to the Tank Man? I think that Tank man got killed by the Chinese for what he did. There is no way that he is still alive and there is no way he got out of there alive with the chinese there and they were looking for him. So he definatly got killed that day.
I agree with your theory about how he was killed by the chinese but I also hope that he is still alive and is living a happy life. But there is a posibility that he got killed right away or later in time for how he protested the government.
What do you think happened to the Tank man? I think that the first theory makes sense. He was probably killed by the chinese government and then they covered up his identity so people would not know about it. But I think that the other theory is also possible.
In my opinion I belive that the tank man most likely got aressted by the police bacause they dident want him protesting aganst the goverment and the reason we probly dont know where he is, Is probely because they killed him.
I think that your reason is one of the most reasonable theory. They probaly didnt want him protesting again against the government because of the press and the chinese probaly wanted this story to be quiet to it didnt get to the press.
When video footage cuts out it's hard to determine what happened behind the scenes. The lack of knowlege in a particular area is a breeding ground for ceativitiy, but also conspiracy. I would have to detest that he had any further contact with the Chinese government. Many sources allude to him fleeing the country after pressure and living now in Taiwan. One clear fact that we can observe is a masqsive cover up effort by the ruling communist party. Every year around the time of the protests there are huge and noticeable travel restrictions and security increases around the site.
What do you think happened to the Tank Man? I think that the Chinese government killed the man who stood in front of the tank. They would not have let an act of freedom and resistance go unpunished. They would have either killed him or taken him into government custody.
I think someone took the Tank Man and then killed him and covered up his idenity so no one will know who he was. I think he blocked the path of the tanks because if the Tank Man was sitting in front of the tank protesting than they could of stopped, went slower, or try to take a different route to get around the tanks.
I also agree they are trying to hide his identity because if that went out to the press then it would be everywhere in the world. Maybe the Tank Man thought that he could protest and they would stop this organization or he thought if he protested others would too.
