Earlier last month was supposed to be a fun camping trip, later to be a crime scene. Dustin - a 35 year old man - set up camp on thursday, october 10 in the moose creek area, about 35 miles soouth of Bozeman. He was planning to spend the weekend there with his girlfriend, but then his girfriend found him lying dead at the campsite. At first, when his girlfriend saw this, she thaught it could have been a bear attack that caused this because of how bad the wounds were, but later autopsys say otherwise. The man was murdered. The killer removed all of the items from the campsite that he thaught could tie him to the murder. One thing that the killer miseed is a beer can that he had previously drank from. This man, through DNA testing of the saliva on the can, was later known to be recognized as a 41 year old man named Daren Abbey.
Daren admitted to commiting the crime, and has four other arrests for DUI, raising his offense to the felony level. The ivestigation is continuing for what his motives were, if any.
What are your thoughts?
Do you have any questions?

What are your thoughts? I have never heard of this or anything like this happening. I think it would be interesting to find out the motives because it sounds like Dustin didn't even know Daren. The killing seems really random, so I'd like to hear what caused him to do it.
I believe that there are so many other cases that havent been discovered. I think a bear attacking him wouldve been possible especially since they are populated in that area and are very deadly creatures.
I think that a bear attack is a likley thing to happen in that area, but not what caused this tragic death.

I think it is crazy how many other cases could be similar to this, but have never been discovered. I wonder if they would have caught him is they had never found the beer. I wonder why he did what he did, what was his purpose?
I think you raise an intersting point about how there could be a bunch of unkown murders out there that might not ever be solved. The purpose/reason for the killing still isn't known.
I do beileve that it could be possiable for a bear to have attackted him a lot of bears in that area are very aggressive and have a hiagher attack rate them the common bear does. My question is based off of all the little evadnce do you think that will find the person if it was a person
The man that was caught was named Daren Abbey and has addmitted to commiting the crime.
What are your thoughts? I have never heard of this case but it is very interesting. I think It wasn't an animal because it wouldn't of killed anyone and did all of that. They possibly were under and influence of so sore of drugs or alcohol.
I don't think the animal did it, but I do believe there is a chance of a bear attack. The thought of them being under the influence is very believable knowing for a fact that he was drinking prior to the murder.
