Parenting is one of the most important and at times hardest job to do, therefore it takes time and steps to be good at parenting. Now some schools are required to take parenting classes in states like Alaska, Connecticut,Florida, ect. To learn how to be a good parent, how to take care of children in frustrating situations, what are good and bad consequences, how to deal with divorce. Those are just a few things they talk about in this class involving boys and girls to both take this course. It also allows opportunities to engage with other classmates that may be having similar issues and struggles.
Each generation sees a change in parenting issues. Currently families struggle with fighting all the time, lack of behavior issues, lack of child supervision, and when there is too much punishment and not enough. Now because of these changes schools want to start incorporating courses so society can change. Studies from Michigan state University say if student attend these classes they'll see dramatic changes in fewer behavior problems, high grades as a child, less substance use, and better mental health.
I think that we should be able to take a parenting class in high school to learn more about what we can do as a teenage to be a good parent when it comes the time, although for some people you may not need these skills right away but its good we already have them and can use them when needed.
Questions:
- Do you think parenting education should be mandatory?
- Would this class be beneficial for you?
- What would you learn after taking this course?

I think that a parenting class could be very beneficial because it could help some people learn how to raise a child but I don't know if it should be mandatory because maybe some people don't need it or are not interested in it.
No, I don't think parenting education should be mandatory even though it's something good that everyone should probably go through. In the end it's the people's choice on whether or not they want to go through with this. I think this class would be beneficial to me because I don't really know anything about being a parent and taking care of a child.
Do you think parenting education should be mandatory? Yes I think that parents should be educated about what they are going to be for the rest of their lives. It is important to know what you are getting yourself into before doing it.
I feel that it should not be mandatory. It should be an option whether you want to take the class or not. Having it be mandatory is just overall wrong. Most people are going to be parents, but it should be an optional class. You would have a personal choice whether you want to take the class. The school shouldn't start to push the class making it mandatory.
I agree with this because the kids should decide on what they want and what they think its better for them. I also agree with the parenting should not be mandatory in overaall of it. I also think that school should make it mandatory because its just making everyone separate from eachother.
I feel like it could go both ways, yes if they are planning on wanting to have children but no if they are not. Otherwise, if you are going to do something with children In your job you might consider this class. But I don't think that it should be mandatory but It could be an option for people who might want to take it.
