New York and other surrounding states are now out of power because af very harsh storms and very high wind speeds. Workers from as far away as Chicago and Canada are still trying to help many residents of Massachusetts and New York. The workers state, "It's what we do and were proud of it." Which must mean that they are very willing to help out the community. Most people are given an estimate that they will have power restored at 11:00 PM Tuesday. Although, situations will grow worse throughout the week. I think it's crazy what wind can do to the environment. It must be hard for people to live if they do not have heat while there is tons of wind.

What would you do if you had no power for as little as 3 days?

I would try to stay warm because of the high wind speeds and use canned foods instead of cooking food.

If you were a construction worker from Ohio called to help New York, would you want to go? Why or Why Not?

I would go help help the east coast if I was a construction worker from Ohio. If it were a very dangerous storm, I probably would not risk my life to fix power.

  • I personaly would try to stay as warm as i could and i would try not to open my fridge as much as possible to try to keep food from spoiling, i would also switch to non-parisable foods and other foods that do not need to be cooked so that i could eat and not have to worry about it to much.

  • if I had no power for 3 days I would try to survive, I would go to family homes, oh try to eat canned food and be alert for the violent air. Depending on how the weater is I would go help, in New York but it would be dangerous, but it's my job and I have to do it, for those people who have to endure being without power.

  • I think I could manage if I were to lose power for three days even though I would not enjoy it. All you really need is candles for the night and to try and keep the food in your fridge cold enough until the power comes back on.

  • I agree with Artie , it would be very hard 3 days without anything . And being a construction worker I would definitely get out and help because it would be good for your business and you as a person to step up and help . It’s the thought that counts .

  • Power without 3+ days would honestly be hard, considering it's an every day essential most food you have in your fridge or freezer may go bad, multiple damages could occur. If i was a construction worker i'd definately go to help because they're going to need all the help they can get and it's technically my job.

  • That's insane that hundreds of thousands of people are without power. It seems like global warming is causing deadlier and deadlier natural disasters. Like all the hurricanes and tropical storms that happened last year.

  • I would try and get somewhere dry and safe . I would hate being without power and for sure water because then you couldn’t shower . I would go work if I was a worker because that would be a good thing to do for the business you work for and you as a person . Stepping up and helping the unfortunate.

  • If I did not have power for the last three days I would probably start crying because I need to take a shower and do laundry and I wouldn't have any internet to do homework. If I was a constrution worker in Ohio and called  by New York to help I manye would consider it but that would be a long ways to travel.

  • I would not be very happy. I might go and help because those people over there really need help.
