Monday- Presentations and Took Notes

Woodrow as president - he kept us out of the war, part of the reason he was reelected, after he was reelected we were in the war (WW1)

FTC- Fed commission act- power to investigate possible violations of regularity statutes. 

Underwood Tariff- reduced tariff rates a lot

Federal reserve act- Passed in 1913 under President Woodrow Wilson- it separated the nation into 12 banks

Keating-Owen act- a act trying to stop the selling and buying of products made from child labor

Adamson Act - in 1916 a law was passed the established an 8 hour work day, just helping people not work as much. No over worked people unless you wanted to work overtime. 

Policy towards African-Americans- Woodrow Wilson was hoping to fight for the blacks for equality and civil rights, he was apposing anti-lynch legislation which was an act that tried and stopped the hanging of people,

Tuesday-  Took notes

Creating economic reform- Many turned to socialism, regulations of railroads, large unbalance in income and how people lived.

Socialism- Ex. the school system, is payed with peoples taxes. Middle and lower class people turned to socialism because it did help them.

Muckrakers- played a big role in bringing reform, Called muckrackers because they racked the muck of society, teddy Roosevelt kind of said that, 

Wednesday- Mr. Bruns slideshow, took notes
