Tuesday, October 6

Today in CWI, we began by talking about the swine flu. If it keeps traveling the way it is, the freshman of Harlan will get it next and work it's way up to the seniors. It started with preschool and moved to elementary. Before we knew it, the middle school is now wiped out from the flu. Hopefully, we can attain it and figure out what to do. Tomorrow, we will be work on our blogs and prepare for our Europe test. Our assigned blog this week is to define failed state. We have to read two articles on the forum page and summarize it. The Europe test will be October 22 and 23. I realllllllly need to start studying that! Our class talked about ITEDs next. We will take them on Tuesday, October 20. So we will have those and then the Europe test. The test on the 20th is Social Studies. If we get in the 70, 80 or 90 percentile range, we get lots of extra bonus points. YAY :) Mr. Bruns told us about why we have to take them and so on.This Saturday there is an extra credit opportunity at the Harlan Library. We have to do a blog entry on the speaker that will be there. There is more info on the forum page. We continued the debate. We talked about prayer in school. US role in Iraq was next. Democrats think we should focus more in Afghanistan and send 40000 more troops. Republicans think we should just stay there until we win. I think we need to stay focused on both of them. It is our country's citizens over there trying to solve it and get freedom. We can't just forget about them. We talked about the United Nations next. Democrats think they would help solve the world's problems. We finally finshed our debate and are starting to focus on the map test more.
