Summary 9/17/09

First we assigned our blogs. I'm doing the War in Afghanistan. Then we went back to working on Mr. Bruns' PowerPoint. First up was Oswald's childhood. He was a troubled child with his family moving about all the time. When he got older he joined the Marines and gained the sharpshooting status. He was dishonorably discharged. He then defected to the USSR. While he was there he met Marina and had a baby June. He then moved back to the US and was accused of being a spy.He then got a job in New Orleans. He still liked Communism so he supported Cuba after the Bay of Pigs invasion. This is one supposed motive for the assassination because Kennedy had tried to take down Castro in Cuba. He bought a Mannlicher-Carcano rifle in Chicago via mail under an alias. He carried the rifle to work in a paper bag in the car of the guy who took him to work. After he kills Kennedy he leaves all the evidence in the room. He walks out of the building with a Coke and starts toward an apartment that he owns. Officer JD Tippet tried to stop him and Oswald kills him. Then he goes to a theater and just goes in. The cops get called and they fight and arrest him. They take him away on the charges of killing Tippet. They added the killing of Kennedy later. He was then interrogated by the police. He was allowed to talk to the press outside of the court rooms and said he was a patsy. Conspiracies get their basis from this when Ruby killed him later on. He was paraded before the media and denied everything except the killing of Tippet. He was transferred to a country jail. This is when Jack Ruby came and shot Oswald while he was being moved into an armored car. Then we moved to Jack Ruby. He changed his last name to Ruby because he was Jewish. He owned a strip club and was acquainted to many police. He learned of the transfer on his police scanner and took his concealed weapon that he always carried and used it to kill Oswald at the police station. They let him into the station because he was good friends with police there.Next was the Warren Report. There were two main people on the Commission. Earl Warren and Gerald Ford. This commission stated the evidence found during the investigation. They say that there was three shots from the TSBD and Connally was hit with the 1st shot. Oswald was the sole killer and the killer of Tippet. Also that there was no evidence that Oswald and Ruby acted alone and didn't have ties to any organization.Oswald's picture with the gun was claimed to be doctored and that wasn't possible in those days and Marina admitted to taking the pictures.
