1. Describe the situation/conflict between the US and North Korea.
Korea split into 2 parts
The Korean war started which was Communist North Korea against democratic South Korea
North Korea withdrew from the Nuclear Non proliferation treaty
In 2002 Bush puts North Korea into the axis of evil
In 2006 North Korea agrees to stop making nuclear weapons
Shortly after North Korea goes back on that agreement
In 2006 North Korea announces its first successful nuclear weapons test
Tested again in 2009
Tested again in 2013

Economic Systems
Capitalism- The people own the businesses
Socialism- The government controls the businesses
Political Systems
Democracy- all citizens participate in making laws
Monarchy- A king or queen is in charge
Oligarchy- All the power is controlled by a small group of people
Communism- Everyone is even but a small group controls the power
Anarchy- Lack of a government
3. What is income inequality, why is it an issue and what can be done to help improve it?
Income inequality is where income is distributed unevenly among the population, and creates a gap between the rich and the poor. The rich stay rich and the poor stay poor because the poor can not get jobs and the rich inherit money and get better education. To fix income inequality you can raise minimum wage or raise the taxes for the rich.

Republicans are more conservative
Have traditional values
Believe that people should help themselves and not have a big government power controlling everything

Believe in the trickle down theory

Favor change in society

Favor and active role of government
For increasing taxes to increase input into programs
