Ch. 5.3:-What problems did farmers face on the Great Plains?-Who were the Populists and what did they believe in?5.3-farmers and the populast movement-most crops were failing for farmers in 1800s-railroads were charging excesive prices for storage-grange--group of people that goes against railroads-farmers-populist--peoples party- regular people fighting back to the rich-Populist-what they wanted(help the common person out)increase in money supply- causing inflationgraduated income tax-didnt have it back then..based off how much you make. the more you make the more you paydirect election of US senators-people elected-- Populists for itsingle terms for pres. and vice pres.secret ballot-- we now haverestrictions on immagration8 hour work days
