Today in CWI we talked a little bit about the DOW Jones. Then Mr. Bruns gave everyone a number for what news share thing they had to read and talk about tomorrow. I got number 2. Next we talked about blogs. The first topic was the united nations. Its a peace organization. It was founded in 1946. General assembly and security council are the two things we need to know.General assembly- Biggest part of the united nations. Countries come and talk about issues. A place where people go and talk about what you think. They meet yearly.Security Council- Most powerful part of the united nations. They can send troops to places and wage war. They maintain peace with countries. There are fiver permanent members. United states, united kingdom. Russia, china, and France.We also talked about why so many countries hate the united states. I learned that they don’t like us because they think we are big headed, big bullies, and we try to push our way. We have economic control and a lot of military in other counties.The next thing we talked about was Ali Khamenei. He is a politician in Iran. The president before him got assassinated. In fourth grade he already started thinking about religious stuff. He was a victim of a terrorist attack. He has been the leader since 1989, and according to max he's really old. He is the supreme leader of Iran. He makes the final decision on what goes on in Iran.Next we talked about Muhammad Ahmadinejad. Ahmadinejad was re-elected this summer. Most people think that he shouldn’t have won. He is the fourth child of seven. He went to college to be an engineer and that didn’t work out for him. So he went into teaching. He is married and has a daughter and two sons. Some of his beliefs are crazy. He thinks the Holocaust never happened. A lot of him are about this god and Ahmadinejad thinks he will appear in the city. He is the sixth current president of Iran.
