Today we continued to learn more about the people involved in the JFK assassination, through Mr. Bruns' powerpoint. I learned that Jack Ruby killed Oswald so that Jackie Kennedy would have to see Oswald at a trial. Next we talked about the Warren Commission. I learned that it was the offial investigation set up by the U.S government to investigate the JFK assassination. I also learned that Earl Warrren was the chief justice of the Warren Commission. Gerald Ford was also on the Warren Commission. I learned that Ford was the only Vice President/President to never be elected by the people. The most important findings of the Warren Commission was that Oswald acted alone, with evidence of a conspiracy theory. They also said that Jack Ruby was not a part of a conspiracy theory.Next we talked about some conspiracy theories, first we talked about the Magic Bullet Theory. The bullet that they believe was the magic bullet was found in perfect condition which doesn't make very much sense. Next I learned more about the Grassy Knoll. I learned that people may have seen puffs of smoke and police officers started running to the Grassy Knoll. The Warren Report said that it was just echoes. I learned that the Watergate Scandal was the main reason that led to the investigation of the House Select Committee on Assassinations. It was different from the Warren Commission because it did not rule out the possibility of a conspiracy. They stated that there might have been four shots, and the fourth came from the Grassy Knoll, but missed. We also talked about more conspiracy theories. One of the new ones I learned about was that Three Tramps Theory, which may have meant that Richard Nixon might have been involoved. I also learned that James Files admitted to being the second gunmen in the assassination.
