Feb. 17 and 18

Monday- We talked about the very famous picture taken during the great depression. Dorthea Lange was the photographer that took the famous picture. Okies were the people that moved during the dust storms. Hoover struggled helping people during the great depression because he didn't want to do more than he needed to. Hoover was viewed as uncaring because he did very little during the great depression. Hoover easily won the 1928 election. Hoover encouraged people to stay calm and wait it out. Hoover's biggest accomplishment was the Hoover Dam. This gave people jobs, created electricity that could be sold, and the dam would eventually pay for itself. Relief, Reform, Recovery, this was the goal of FDR's New Deal.
