Drawing Blood Will Help Stop Drunk Driving. 8/13/09

So, in Boise Idaho. Police officer Darryll Dowell, would usually pull up to a stop light and look at the other drivers arms. One day he thought that he could maybe draw blood to see if the person he pulls over is drugged, or drinking and driving. They think it would increase the amount of drivers that drink and drive and whatever else. They're hopeing in about a year or two that National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will encourage police nationwide to undergo similar training.Idaho had a 20% breath test refusal rate in 2005, and it was 22% nationally. Police officers can't force people to take a breath test, but they can forse them too draw blood. The police officers are usually trained with their state hospital or clinic. The state law says that if they refuse to get there blood drawn they lose there license for a year. There's around 5% of the people refuse the officer will search warrant from an on-call judge and the suspect can be restrained if needed to get a sample.I think this is a good idea that they should do to people who are stupid enough to drink and drive or be "high" or whatever when they are driving. I'm sure they're going to do whatever it takes just to decrease the amount of the people like that.
