Monday-  The treaty of Versailles consisted of the U.S., Great Britain, France, Italy, and other allied powers. Held on January 18, 1919- January 21, 1920, in Versailles Palace in Versailles Prais. This was to set the peace terms for Germany and other defeated nations and to deal with the enemies. The Fourteen Points was a speech delivered by President Woodrow Wilson to Congress on January 8, 1918. This was for peace for all countries and other allied powers did not like this. The Treaty of Versailles was nothing like the fourteen points. 1. An end to secret treaties 2. Freedom of the seas 3. Free trade for all countries 4. Disarmament 5. End to colonial claims 6. Self-determination for all countries 14. The "League of Nations" would be developed. (biggest point) The Treaty of Versailles Germany lost land to France, Belgium, Denmark, Czechoslovakia, and Poland. Germany's Army was reduced to no more than 100, 000. Not allowed tanks, and airforce. Only allowed 6 naval ships and no submarines. The loss of vital industrial territory to Allied powers would be a severe blow to Germany's economy. 1-1 with money to 1-19trillion the doichmark was worthless. The war guilt clause meant that Germany had to admit full responsibility for starting the war. The league of nations was set up to keep world peace. The U.S. never signed the Treaty of Versailles or joined the League of Nations.
