For this assigned blog we are to tell about our family history.
The Sonderman Family. (Hanover Germany)
I will start with my mom’s family. My mom’s name is Chris Assmann. She is the daughter of Robert (Bob), and Diane Sonderman. Bobs family came from Germany like most people around here, and Diane is German with a little bit of Irish in her. Diane’s parents are Raymond Rutherford and Rose Kruger. Bob’s parents are Dorthy and Albert Sonderman. August and Elizabeth were their parents’ names. Diane and Bob had 6 kids. Corey, Chris, Curt, Chad, Clint, and Chantel. Corey, Curt, and Chantel are not married. Chris (my mom) has 4 kids. Justin age 23 is deceased, Josh age 21, Taylor age 20, and Chelsea the age of 15. Clint also has 4 kids. Austin age 8, Hannah 6, Paige 4, and Aysa is 2 years old. Chad has 3 girls. Payton who is 13, Sidney is 11, and Ellie is 2 years old. Corey is from Earling Iowa, Chris is from Panama Iowa, Curt is from Earling Iowa, Chad is from Omaha Nebraska, Clint is from Earling Iowa, and Chantel is from Panama Iowa. This side of my family enjoys being together playing games, going to pumpkins patches, apple orchards, and other family events.
Bob died September 19th 2002.
Albert died May 10th 1994
The Assmann family. (Shausenn Germany) (Wesphalia Germany)
Larry Assmann is my dad. He is the son of Norbert (Nub) Assmann and Eunie Miller. Nub and Eunie are both full German. Larry’s grandparents are Ferdinand and Cecilia Assmann, and Tony and Julia Miller. Nub and Eunie had 11 children. Dave, Maze, Roger, Peg, Pat, Beverly, Dewey, Don, Larry, Norma, and Scott. All of them are married with healthy children. Dave, Larry, and Scott are the 3 boys that do not have grandchildren (yet.) Everyone else has multiple grandchildren. Dave currently lives in Orlando, Florida, Maze lives in Pourtsmouth Iowa, Roger Woodbine Iowa, Peg in Defiance, Pat lives in Dunlap Iowa, Bev lives in Panama Iowa, Dewey is from Harlan Iowa, and Don, Larry, Norma, and Scott are all from Panama Iowa. This side of the family is into farming, and also like to be together as a family!
Nub died on June 12th 1995.
Both of these families came here to settle because they like the area.
I didn’t get very far on the history of my family but what I have is all pretty good information, in my opinion. I love my family so much and I do not know what I would do without them!
