Summary:
The movie Pearl Harbor is the story of two friends, Rafe and Danny. Rafe volunteers to travel to help the English fleet in WWII. He is shot down and news returns to Danny and Rafe's then girlfriend Evalyn. As news return Danny and Eveylen cope together and evetually get together. After 3 months, Rafe finally returns to what he hopes is the old life he left, but comes back to something he was not expecting. Him and Danny get into a bar fight and then later talk and agreed that nothing can be the same. The next day, the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor. Rafe and Danny travel to the smaller airfield adn fly their planes. They shoot down over 6 planes and then travel to the Pearl Harbor Base. The sight they saw was terrible. Warships sunk, thousands dead, and many wounded. After the grouped funeral of the fallen, Danny and Rafe are assigned to a mission with Col. Doolittle. They practice and train for the mission of bombing Tokyo. The attack goes sooner than expected, they lighten the planes, add more fuel and take off. They make it to Japanese enemy line. They start to take on fire and after words find they are out of fuel and are afraid they cant make it to shore. Rafe tells everyone that this was a suicide mission. Rafe then spots land and they crash land,then are ambushed by the Japanese.
Danny's plane then crash lands in the same spot Rafe did in order to safe Rafe and his team. Rafe finds Danny in critical condition when Japanese soldiers take Danny and tie him and take him prisioner.Rafe then shoots all the soldiers Danny then saves Rafe's life and is shot to death and as he dies, Rafe tells him he is going to be a father. Rafe returns home with Danny in his casket. At the end Rafe and Evalyn live their lives together and take care of Danny their son.
Review:
The movie Pearl Harbor is such a wonderful movie. It really shows what the soldiers, nurses, and other military personal went through. The attack on Pearl Harbor scene was amazing. I think it really showed the full extent on what happened that dreadful day. The movie gives you just a hint of the feeling of dread and hurt the soldiers experinced. No one can really understand what the people went through that day. The movie also shows that bestfriends, no matter what they go through always have each others back. Pearl Harbor's cast really portrays just the bravery and courage the soldiers were required to have. Ben Affleck and Josh Harnett were perfect for the roles. May the fallen forever rest in peace and may we never forget Pearl Harbor.
